Dwell In His Presence

“I was a Christian for several years before I understood that true inner satisfaction is the most important thing in life and that it is the result of enjoying life through the abiding presence of God.” Joyce Meyer – ‘Knowing God Intimately’

Dwell In His Presence

The Lord would speak to Moses personally, as a man speaks to his friend. Then Moses would come back to the camp, but his assistant, Joshua, son of Nun, stayed inside the tent.
Exodus 33:11

Moses met with God in the tabernacle which was placed outside the Israelites’ camp. When Moses entered the tabernacle, the pillar of cloud came down and remained in front of the entrance of the tent. What an awesome sight this would have been and to also witness the Lord speaking with his servant.

Joshua, Moses’ assistant, would not leave the tent because he felt the holy presence of God and the glory of the Lord upon the tabernacle. As he waited on Him in the tabernacle, his every fibre was touched by the divine presence of God.

Joshua’s love for the Lord was unstinted because he had seen the hand of God guide Moses out of Egypt. By watching Moses, this young man learnt the great lesson that all things are possible to those who continually dwell in God’s presence. This experience caused him to long for and remain in a place where God’s presence was evident.

As Joshua spent long hours in the presence of God, his character and trust in God grew stronger, moulding him to become a great leader who eventually succeeded Moses in leading God’s chosen people into the Promised Land.

May we encourage you this morning to spend time in the presence of God to know and experience Him the way Joshua did, so that you may receive strength to sustain you throughout the day.

Dear Lord,
As I come to You this morning, I am reminded of Joshua being in Your presence and never wanting to leave. Help me to experience  Your  presence the same wasy, never wanting to leave Your love that draws me ever closer to You. Amen.

God bless you,
Theo & Manju
